Are you someone who is afraid of heights? According to Google, heights are the second biggest fear among people. This was true for me as well until I faced my fear head on by skydiving back in 2013. However, over the past 8 years I haven't faced that same fear and it's began to creep back into my life.
I'm excited at the opportunity to face that fear once again. This May I'll be going Over The Edge for myself and for the many others who are not only afraid of heights, but for those who have faced a much bigger challenge, cancer.
Gilda's Club Kentuckiana has been helping those affected by cancer for many years and through it's fundraising efforts will continue to do so for years to come. I have been a part of the Gilda's Club Associate Board for over a year now and Gilda's allows me the opportunity to play a very small role alongside a very big mission --- to ensure those impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community. This desire to join in Gilda's mission started from the personal experiences I've had within my own family, as well as the focus from the corporation I now work alongside professionally.
Over The Edge is an event that consists of a variety of participants repelling from the top of the Hyatt in downtown Louisville. This is a once in a lifetime experience for those who participate, while at the same time creates a tremendous opportunity for Gilda's Club and it's members as the proceeds will directly help fulfill our organization's mission. If you have the means to support me in facing my fear as well as supporting those who fight cancer your donation would mean the world, but if you're not able to, sharing this page on your social media would be much appreciated!
