Hello! My name is Elizabeth Ross and I am participating in Going Over The Edge in honor of my mother. My mother has been a survivor/fighter of Sarcoma since 2016. Last year when Covid began, my mom came across Gilda's Club Kentucky through a Facebook group. She contacted Gilda's Club Kentucky and informed them that she'd like to participate and join the Kentucky Group since Texas doesn't have a local chapter, and they welcomed her with open arms. For almost a year now, she participates in at least 4-5 Gilda's club groups/classes each week. Our family can't thank Gilda's club enough for all the support and camaraderie they have provided for my mom during a trying time. She has created some lasting bonds and looks forward to seeing her Gilda's friends each week. Even when our mother was hospitalized multiple times during covid 19 and no visitors were allowed, she was still able to log in to meet with her Gilda's lunch laugh group that provided the support and laughter that she needed. We can not imagine the last year without Gilda's club.
Gilda's club is an amazing organization that focuses on assisting cancer survivors and families to not go through cancer alone. I am going over the edge in honor of my mothers battle with cancer and also in support of Gilda's club to continue to support families.
