I’m AJ Taulbee, Plant Manager for Algood Food Company, Louisville. 

Algood employees are the absolute best!  Every year our team reaches out and steps up to help those less fortunate or in need.  But this year, they have pushed me to the edge!   An actual edge – I’m stepping off an 18 story building in an effort to raise money for cancer patients and their families through Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana. 

Algood is a family business with core values that incorporate caring, kindness, compassion, and a sense of community.  Our employees and our families have been impacted over the years by the devastation of this terrible disease.  It is my wish that the money raised will continue to support the cancer community until a cure can be found.  Please consider making a donation large or small.

    Getting down to the wire!  In just a few more days I will find myself standing on the edge, preparing to take a giant step.  I hope my nerves settle a bit and I am able to enjoy this wonderful opportunity.  See you all on my way down!

    Thanks to all of you who have been so generous to ensure the primary goal was reached!  I am getting more anxious by the day. Hopefully we can continue to raise more support for the people that need Gilda's Club the most.

    Thank you for “taking the leap” to help stop cancer. My mother was a breast cancer survivor, my father died of lung cancer and also had bladder cancer, my grandmother had skin cancer, I have had four lifelong friends die of gastro or lung cancer in the past six years. I was there when one of their mother’s died of lung cancer. Cancer took my uncle and my mother-in-law and my nephew. The list goes on. I pray for the day when all cancers are curable.
